Whats better? Digital or Paper Scrapbooking?

I have been asking myself for a while now. Does everyone try both? Do you try both? Or does everyone gravitate towards one more than the other? And why?

I think there are features and benefits of each but I still can not PICK ONE. Do you struggle with this? Does everyone struggle with this?

Would love to hear your input. It's a quandary that I simply can not get passed..

Better Work-Life Balance: Babies at the Office

Can't bear to leave baby in daycare when maternity leave ends? Increasing numbers of employers are now embracing the practice of bringing babies to work. "As recently as 2006, companies tended not to publicize their programs because each assumed it was an isolated thing," says Carla Moquin, founder of the Parenting in the Workplace Institute, which maintains an ever-growing list of 70-plus employers that officially permit infants at work. "But now more groups are coming forward with this solution, which they view as a win-win for everyone."

Companies get to retain valuable, talented employees, and new parents don't miss out on bonding time with baby. "At an informal, family-type business, mom might nurse at her desk, while more conservative organizations may convert an unused office to a quiet room for feeding and settling down crying babies," says Moquin. Programs are usually conditional on the parent being able to complete her usual workload -- and on baby being quiet enough to allow coworkers to be productive, says Moquin. (Translation: This may mean leaving baby in daycare or with another caretaker occasionally to attend meetings or plow through big projects.) And most employers stipulate that once babies start crawling or walking, parents should make other arrangements.

Trend Tip: Many companies haven't added this to the official HR rulebooks yet, but may make arrangements on a case-by-case basis. If you're curious, it can't hurt to ask!

Mother Scrapbook for Mothers Day!

Huh? What?

Mother Scrapbook for Mothers Day...

What is that?

It's the Mother of All Scrapooks of Course! Who better than your own mother (whom you have known all your life) can you scrapbook about? Who better to appreciate that scrapbook? Imagine how VAST the amount of material you can put in that book. And how incredibly overwhelmed with emotion your mom will be when you present her with such an amazing gift from the heart.

So...what do you put in this book - if you don't have ideas yet...

1. The Mother of All Cover's - with a LARGE title with the word MOM, MOTHER or MOM and ME...and possible even a photo of just your mom or the two of you.
   
   
2. The best Mother Poem or Mother Quote you can find. You know...the one that best describes the relationship you have with your mother or the type of mother your mom really is...
   
   
3. An amazing FULL PAGE (8. x 11) photo of you and your mom (if you didn't already put that on the cover). And if you don't have one...why not put in a gift certificate to a local photo studio to make sure you GET ONE!
   
   
4. Then...what about a copy of your birth certificate? And other random items that you may have kept from the day of birth? (Do you know where your hospital bracelet is? Or your height and weight chart? Or what about the very first photo?).
   
   
5. AND...can you find hers? Does someone, somewhere have your mothers birthing memorabilia? Can you get ahold of it and include it in your scrapbook album?
   
   
6. Can you do a side by side layout of the two of your birth memorabilia?
7. Then what about the early days photos? Do you have those?
   
   
8. Or copies of your report cards? Or even hers? (Looking back at some of the teachers comments - I bet you could create some great TITLES or even Journal bits inspired by them)
   
   
9. You can also include grad and wedding photo's for her or both of you. And even finish the book with photo's of your mothers grandchildren. OR...if you are not quite there yet...at least you can finish this mothers day scrapbook album off with a great mothers day wish!

What do you wish for your mom on mothers day?

Wouldn't it be nice for you to share that wish with her. Let her know how much you want for her to have all the wonderful things in life?

Mothers Day is Coming!

What are you doing for mothers day? Are you a mom? (I know that on average 46% of my site visitors are parents - but I am not sure how many of them are female). What I do know however is that EVERY MOM deserves exactly what she wants on mothers day.

So what do you want?

Do you want more scrapbooking supplies?
Do you want more scrapbooking tools?
Do you want your kids to create a scrapbook for you?
Do you want your kids to create a scrapbook with you?

Or do you want something entirely different?

No matter what you want...you may be interested in some creative ways to communicate what you want so that you do get it.

Here's what I might suggest.

1. Drop verbal hints during conversation with your family about the things you would like to have, or need.
2. Get a magazine with photo's of the items you want and put post it notes on the pages where those items are. (Make sure you write on the post it note - which item on the page it is that you do want).
3. Create a wish list - and give it to your husband (or someone close) that can shop with your kids to get you exactly what you want.
4. Create an online wish list and link to the things you want. This site lets you do that with ANY links from any store online. http://www.thethingsiwant.com/
5. Make a dreams scrapbook. And in that - put photo's and details about your dream items and why you want them so much. Then - share that album with your family. OR better yet - why not let everyone in your family have a section in the book where they TOO can list their dreams. (This way the album is not all about you - and all of you can work together to make your dreams come true!!!!).
